This month, the Flamingo Chicks charity’s youth council, called Agents of Change, visited Television Centre and took on a huge challenge - completing 50 laps of the Helios! Another 50 laps will be completed by their Bristol counterparts. Together this will be their #May100 challenge, which is part of a wider initiate from Flamingo Chicks, encouraging 100 people to get active and raise money and awareness in the month of May.

Despite some showers, the incredible young change-makers completed their 50 laps in full flamingo attire! They walked, ran and scooted around the Helios, bringing smiles and motivation to many.

Flamingo Chicks is an award-winning inclusive charity, using dance as a mechanism for social change. Through weekly classes, inter-generational volunteering, parent/carers support network, global and advocacy work, Flamingo Chicks combats inactivity and isolation among the 880,000 disabled children (8% of the child population) and their families. The charity supports disabled children to realise their full potential.

The Agents of Change is made up of 40 disabled and non-disabled young activists, who are fighting for a fair future for disabled children. They match passion with personal experience and work together to build their skillset, ready to campaign for change. They have spoken at high profile events, as well as no.10 Downing Street, the House of Commons and at the United Nations in New York! The AOCs meet once a month on Zoom to interview exciting guests and develop their skills.
